CASEF is an in-person event.  The students who would need to travel more than 100 miles may request virtual participation.  The Board of Directors and Fair Committee believe there is great value to the in-person format.   Students will no longer be asked to make videos for the judges’ review.  In place of the video a Judges’ Brief, like the ISEF quad board, will be required to share with the judges prior to judging day. This component of the registration saves the judges a great deal of time and allows them to prepare more specific questions for the interview.   The Judges’ Brief also provides a “Plan B” in the case of inclement weather or other reasons the in-person event could not be held.  There may be differing opinions as to the fair format, but the goal is the same:  to encourage the young scientists and engineers of today to make a better tomorrow. 12. To avoid noncompliance with school district policies and CIPA, a video component will not be required this year.  To match ISEF protocol, a Judge’s Brief requirement will replace the video.
